STORE POLICIES

Preorder Policy

Cottoneer Fabrics will offer preorders for fabrics that we deem highly desirable and highly anticipated.  You can find these fabric collections under our Preorder menu option.  Placing a preorder means you are reserving fabric by paying for a listing up-front, before Cottoneer receives this fabric in hand.  Since Cottoneer Fabrics does not have the fabric in hand at the time of the preorder, please understand that we will ship all preorder fabrics immediately upon receiving said fabrics.  The estimated date of arrival is clearly noted in each preorder listing.  Sometimes a manufacturer can experience delays or mis-shipments, and these situations are outside of our control.  If for any reason there is an issue with your preorder (ie delays, missing piece, etc), we will contact update you through our social media channels or newsletter immediately to make you aware of the situation.  Please know that all Preorder sales are final.  Preorder sales cannot be canceled, altered, traded or combined with other orders.  We appreciate your understanding.  Please do not order “in stock” items with your preorder, please place multiple orders if other items are needed more immediately.

Return Policy

All sales through Cottoneer are final. We cannot accept refunds or exchanges for other products in our store.  However, if a mistake has been made or fabric flaws are found in your order, please email us so we can make it right.  We know purchasing fabric online has a unique set of challenges that may lead to the urge to return or exchange.  One of these issues is color.  We take all of our photographs in natural light with the utmost of care and color awareness.  We occasionally color correct while editing our photos if a color just won’t jive with that day’s lighting.  That being said, not all monitors or mobile devices interpret color in the same way, therefore we cannot guarantee the color of your fabric will be exactly the same as you see online.  The only sure-fire way to guarantee a color is to order a piece as a swatch.  In most cases our smallest cut is a quarter yard.  Please take care to note our washing instructions which we include in every product listing.  These washing instructions often come straight from the fabric manufacturer.  If a fabric has been damaged due to incorrect laundering, we will not be able to accept its return.

How do I return my items?

We’re sorry to say that Cottoneer does not accept returns unless a mistake has been made or a major flaw in the fabric exists.  If a mistake has been made in your order, please email us for full instructions on how to return your items within 30 days of the order being placed.  We regret that we cannot accept any returns from International Addresses.

How do I correct a mistake in my order?

If a mistake has been made in your order, we do sincerely apologize!  Please email us and let us know what the issue is within 30 days of the order being placed.  We will do everything in our power to correct the mistake.

Cancelations

Cottoneer cannot refund/cancel orders that have already been cut.  If you decide you must still cancel after an order has been cut, we will refund your order minus a 20% restocking fee to cover the cost of our time to cut/package/inventory the order and the loose yardage left over in our inventory.  While we hope that you never need to cancel a Cottoneer order, we understand that circumstances arise that require a cancelation.  Please note that all fabric sales through Cottoneer are final.  However if you catch us before we cut your order, we will be able to cancel/refund your order.  Please make sure you email us at [email protected] immediately upon deciding to cancel.

Lost Packages – Domestic

Unfortunately Fedex and USPS can lose a package from time to time.  This is a very rare occurrence but it is possible.  If you believe your package has been lost in transit, please email us.  We will file a lost package claim on your behalf.  If you are a domestic US customer and have not received your package after 14 business days (from shipping date) of static tracking updates, email us then.  40 business days for all International Orders.  After a claim is filed, it takes 2-8 weeks to hear back from Fedex or USPS.  In some cases they will reimburse Cottoneer.  If that is the case Cottoneer will reimburse you for the subtotal of your order.  If the claim is rejected, we will use our best judgment to come to a fair agreement for both parties. Cottoneer will not reimburse or credit lost packages until the outcome of a filed claim is received.  Please understand that these occurrences are rare and are frustrating for us too.  We wish we could hand-deliver all of our packages to our wonderful customers!

Lost Packages – International

Unfortunately USPS can lose a package from time to time.  This is a very rare occurrence but it is possible.  If you have not received your package after 40 business days (from shipping date) of static tracking updates, email us then.  After a claim is filed, it takes 2-6 weeks to hear back from USPS.  In some cases they will reimburse Cottoneer.  If that is the case Cottoneer will reimburse you for the subtotal of your order.  If the claim is rejected, we will use our best discretion and judgment to come to a fair agreement for both parties.  Cottoneer does not accept responsibility for lost international packages, and cannot guarantee a solution for lost packages older than 6 months from ship date.  Please understand that these occurrences are very rare and are frustrating for us too.  We wish we could hand-deliver all of our packages to our wonderful customers!
